Coil On Plug Extension Lead

The DM16-HT308 coil-on-plug extension lead is used in conjunction with the DM16-HT25 automotive ignition HT lead pick-up probe. In cases where the engine is equipped with coils-on-plugs and a detailed examination of the secondary ignition pattern of a particular cylinder is required and other methods of acquiring a secondary HT  signal are unsuccessful  then it may be necessary to remove the coil and fit the extension lead and then connect the DM16-HT25 pick-up probe to the extension cable, this will enable a detailed pattern to be viewed on your oscilloscope.the DM16-HT25 is fitted with a ground cable to provide protection for your ‘scope and the signal attenuation is 10,000:1. An auxiliary ground patch cable is supplied to provide a ground for the coil. The DM16-HT308 is 650mm in length and fitted with heavily insulated and robust terminals. Use of the extension cable can also help to observe coil insulation breakdown or arc to ground, which cannot be seen with the coil in situ.
